Perfect...Hunter Gatherer week 6th - 12th September! Perfect, it's a date! Seriously, if you fancy a longer test for yourself (I know you've got the right skill set) give me a shout. As it's a 'living from the land' type course I charge less than I would for the purely instructional courses. Also, happy to negotiate a bit with you. It's such a specialist week and really separates the men from the boys in terms of what YOU can achieve in that time frame and with those resources, that I was thinking of opening it up to other instructors from other schools anyway. Still might. In my opinion, if someone is teaching these skills and theories about what's truly possible in an extended, minimalist bushcrafting scenario then they should be able to complete this week with relative ease. Even if you know you can achieve all the required tasks individually then upping the stakes a bit and still succeeding really does boost your confidence no end. It was a bit of a milestone for myself and the other guys who came along. wilderness survival skills - Joe O'Learyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09188583446136184262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-161441920492923251.post-87241962612312269062013-03-22T06:20:42.924-07:002013-03-22T06:20:42.924-07:00Cheers Joe. I like open fronted shelters too, its good to have the space as you say and also get on with projects once the fire and shelter are mostly sorted.<br />I do indeed fancy a trip in September, sounds great. The high Lean To was to allow me somewhere not too cramped but still providing protection from the weather, to get on with jobs and projects during the week but I was prepared to have to invest a few hours closing in the sides more or even building a mirror image opposite if the rain came in heavy or the wind changed. As it happens the days stayed fairly warm and rain free. Stripping your kit down to just a couple of hand tools, string and a metal pot does bring you right back down to earth but for best results you've got to make a week of it I reckon. Blackberries and mint really help those brews out eh. Did the smoke eddie over your shelter much through the week with the wind direction changing?paul adamsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00643311628755844539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-161441920492923251.post-44298971273643302682013-03-21T11:31:46.149-07:002013-03-21T11:31:46.149-07:00Thanks Beanybear.
